FURNAS COURSE - DESCRIPTION
Located on the Ilha de São Miguel this course was originally created by Mackenzie Ross as only having nine holes. In 1986 Cameron Powell extended them so successfully to the regular 18 that all the new holes feel as though it was designed as one initial course. The course is located in the Furnas valley which is famous for its tropical vegetation and hot springs together with its breathtaking views typical to the Azores. The fairways are undulating and mainly lined with trees providing an interesting game. The excellent greens tend to be elevated making them just that bit more of a challenge.
